Maria Farland has lectured by invitation at Monmouth University, Cambridge University, Stanford University, Yale University, Columbia University, Wesleyan University, Skidmore College, University of Aberdeen, University College London, and public venues like the Angler's Club in lower Manhattan, the Princeton Club in New York City, and the Cosmos Club in Washington, DC. Recent appearances include a talk on Emily Dickinson and the land grant college at Iowa State University, and a lecture on Robert Frost and rural inferiority discourse at the Museum of the White Mountains in New Hampshire. She has upcoming talks at University of Gothenburg in Sweden and the National Chengchai University in Taipei, Taiwan.
